Credibility Alliance organized a regional workshop on ‘CSO Governance, Compliances and Engagement with Businesses: Opportunities and Challenges’ on 4th July, 2016 in Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh). The workshop was jointly hosted by Credibility Alliance and Uttar Pradesh Voluntary Action Network (UPVAN) and supported by BSE Sammaan.
The key issues discussed during first technical session, CSO Governance and Compliances session were; Need and challenges of CSO governance, Norms and standards of CSO governance- CSO perspective, donor, corporate perspectives, Legal and ethical compliances and implication of new Lokpal & Lokayuktas Act 2013 on NGO’s.
During CSO Engagements with Businesses session key issues discussed were; CSO-CSR engagement: opportunity and challenges, CSO readiness for partnership with CSR, Engagements-current initiatives and opportunities, Corporate expectations and partnership models, CSO-CSR partnership for achieving SDGs.
In the last session, future intervention agenda for follow up which included CA’s role in Capacity Building of CSO’s, Networking and Linkages with corporate, information sharing and creating opportunities for CSO-CSR interface were identified. Workshop was attended by 50 participants representing CSO’s, corporate and funding agencies and others.
